Trapped

TRAPPED

Empty shell, hollow, living half-alive
Chosen misery, chosen compromise
Trapped in the past, she holds the key
Captive to your fears locked in misery
Scars that run deep, a heart that can’t see
Blinded by pain, wanting to flee

Unexpected hope, joy brought by fate
Feelings never known, destiny’s soul mate
Shared dreams, secrets, hopes and desires
Enchanted connection, ignited inner fire

Selfishly torn, fiercely pulled away
Tangled in her web, forever doomed to stay
Days go on, time passes by
No longer alive, no spark in your eye

Memories of a joy that once made you whole
Safe in your dreams, eternal in your soul

Thank you so much ! This poem was created after my daughter and I discovered a spider web, it belonged to a Black Widow and in it ,"trapped", was a male Black widow spider. I related it to a person and then added some inner thoughts to it.

Thank you so much for your kind comments!
